New FEDVIP Members—Getting Started with Your VSP Benefits
Whether you’re new to VSP® Vision Care through FEDVIP or a returning member, starting a new benefit year can sometimes feel confusing or overwhelming.
We’ve made getting started easy so you can get the most out of your vision benefits!
Step 1: Access Your VSP Member Account
First, you’ll need to create or log in to your VSP member account to view your benefits information. Logging in ensures you always know what’s covered and what to expect at your appointment.
When you’re logged in, you can:
- View your coverage details
- Check your claim history
- Find a VSP network doctor near you
- Submit and track a claim
- View your member ID card (and print it or download it to your digital wallet)
- Manage dependent information (if you have dependents covered under your plan)
Step 2: Find an Eye Doctor and Schedule Your Appointment
Maximize your benefits by staying in network. VSP has thousands of in-network eye doctors to choose from, so finding one near you is easy! Just use the Find a Doctor tool to get started.
You can get even more from your benefits when you visit a VSP Premier EdgeTM location. As a FEDVIP member, when you visit a Premier Edge location you’ll have no exam copay, your exam is fully-covered, and you’ll have more Featured Frame Brands to choose from! You’ll also get access to special rebates and offers, plus a worry-free eyewear guarantee when you visit a Premier Edge location.*
Step 3: Get More From Your Materials Coverage
You can shop for materials like glasses, contacts, blue light filtering glasses, sunglasses, and more using your vision benefits when you visit an in-network private practice or retail location like Visionworks® and Eyemart Express.
When you’re shopping for new frames, choose a Featured Frame Brand and you’ll get more to spend. Just look for the VSP heart logo on the lens to find frames that maximize your benefits.
Prefer to shop online? Eyeconic® is the in-network, online eyewear store for VSP members. Using your benefits is easy: simply connect your benefits when you log in and have a valid prescription ready when you check out.
Step 4: Prepare for Your Appointment
We don’t always like surprises—so get a quick look at what you might spend before you visit your eye doctor! VSP’s Eye on Cost Calculator™ gives you an estimate of what you can expect to spend out‑of‑pocket and shows how much your VSP coverage can save you.**
